Along the trail, you’ll explore Namche Bazaar, visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, stand at the iconic Everest Base Camp, and watch a breathtaking sunrise from Kala Patthar, one of the best viewpoints in the region. From there, the journey continues to Island Peak, where you’ll receive proper acclimatisation and climbing training to prepare for the summit.

At 6,189 metres (20,305 feet), Island Peak offers a thrilling yet achievable introduction to Himalayan mountaineering. Guided by experienced climbers and supported with all the necessary gear, the climb is both safe and rewarding. After reaching the summit, you’ll retrace your steps back to Lukla and fly to Kathmandu, ending your journey with memories to last a lifetime.

Welcome to Nepal! Once you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, our team will be there to receive you and transfer you to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax and get ready for your mountain adventure. If time allows, explore the bustling streets of Thamel or enjoy a traditional Nepali meal.

Today begins with a comprehensive trek briefing covering the route, altitude safety, emergency protocols, and gear preparation. We’ll conduct a full equipment check to ensure you’re fully equipped for both the trek and the Island Peak climb. All necessary permits, including those for Island Peak and Sagarmatha National Park, will be finalized. The afternoon is free to rest or explore more of Kathmandu’s cultural highlights.

After an early breakfast, we’ll take a thrilling flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. After landing, begin walking through small Sherpa villages and scenic trails beside the Dudh Koshi River. The short trek leads to the peaceful village of Phakding. The walk to Phakding is short, perfect for easing into the altitude.

Today’s route includes multiple suspension bridges and a steady uphill climb through dense pine forests. After a gradual ascent, you’ll reach Namche Bazaar, the bustling heart of the Khumbu. It’s important to move slowly and drink plenty of fluids today, as this is a significant gain in elevation. Enjoy breathtaking views of Everest along the way.

Take a rest day to aid acclimatization, which is crucial for a successful journey ahead. In the morning, hike up to the Everest View Hotel for panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Afterward, visit the Sherpa Culture Museum or browse the local market.

The trail today offers incredible views of Ama Dablam as you walk through rhododendron forests toward Tengboche. Here, visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, a spiritual hub of the region. After visiting the monastery, descend to the quiet settlement of Debuche.

Follow the Imja Khola river, passing through Pangboche, home to the oldest monastery in the Khumbu region. The trail opens into a wide valley as you approach Dingboche. The landscape becomes more barren and alpine, and the effects of altitude are more noticeable.

Today is a rest day. Climb to Nagarjun Hill for breathtaking views of surrounding peaks like Ama Dablam, Makalu, and Island Peak. Though physically demanding, this hike is essential for acclimatization and prepares your body for higher elevations. Return to Dingboche for rest, hydration, and a good night’s sleep.

Today’s journey includes a steady climb past yak pastures and memorial cairns at Thukla Pass, built in honour of climbers who perished on Everest. It’s a solemn and humbling experience. The trail then leads to the windswept village of Lobuche. As oxygen levels decrease, be mindful of your body and alert your guide to any signs of altitude sickness.

Today we’ll reach Gorakshep, your last stop before Everest Base Camp. After a short rest, hike to EBC, standing at the base of the world’s tallest mountain and take in the raw power of the Khumbu Icefall. The route is rocky and exposed, so use caution, especially in windy conditions. Return to Gorakshep for the night.

Start early for a sunrise climb to Kalapatthar, offering unmatched views of Everest, Nuptse, and Pumori. After taking photos and soaking in the view, descend to Dingboche, a long but rewarding day.

A short and gradual trek brings you to Chhukung, a peaceful village and the gateway to Island Peak. Use the extra time to organise your climbing gear. If you’re renting equipment like crampons or ice axes, test them out and make sure everything fits properly.

Join a climbing clinic where your guide will demonstrate the use of ropes, harnesses, crampons, and ice axes. Spend the day acclimatizing and mentally preparing for the climb. This training is essential for your safety and confidence. Rest well and hydrate, as the summit push begins soon.

Hike along rocky glacial terrain to reach Island Peak Base Camp. Once at camp, your team will set up tents and finalise gear preparation. Use the evening to eat a hearty meal, review summit instructions, and rest, as tomorrow is the big day.

Start your ascent before dawn using headlamps and crampons. The route includes steep snow slopes and fixed rope sections near the summit ridge. With your guide’s help, use ropes and ice gear confidently to reach the top. From the summit, enjoy panoramic views of Lhotse, Baruntse, and Makalu. Enjoy panoramic views of the Eastern Himalayas before descending back to Chhukung. Descend carefully back to Base Camp, then to Chhukung for a well-earned rest.

This extra day is reserved to accommodate any delays caused by weather conditions, health issues, or other unforeseen circumstances. Use this time to rest, recover, or explore the surroundings at a relaxed pace.

Begin your descent through the Imja Valley, returning to Debuche via Dingboche. Take in the views you missed on the way up. Enjoy the changing landscape as the altitude gradually lowers.

Continue descending through the picturesque villages of Tengboche and Namche Bazaar. Enjoy the vibrant Sherpa culture one last time as you make your way to Monjo, where you will spend your final night in the mountains.

Enjoy a gentle walk through forested trails and charming Sherpa settlements as you return to Lukla. Celebrate your incredible achievement with your team and guides, sharing stories and memories from your adventure.

Board a morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Spend the day at your leisure, whether relaxing after your trek or exploring more of Kathmandu’s vibrant streets.

Explore the cultural treasures of the Kathmandu Valley at a relaxed pace. Visit iconic sites such as Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), or Pashupatinath Temple. In the evening, join a farewell dinner featuring traditional Nepali cuisine to celebrate the completion of your journey.

Your journey comes to a close. After breakfast, we’ll transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight home. Take with you unforgettable memories, incredible photos, and a deep sense of accomplishment.

Please note that due to ongoing road construction along the Prithvi Highway, the drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara has become more time-consuming and dusty than usual. Meals are designed to keep you energised, with breakfast options like porridge, muesli, Tibetan bread, toast with eggs or jam, pancakes, and hot drinks such as tea, coffee, or lemon. Lunch and dinner typically include dal bhat, noodle soup, momo (local dumplings), fried rice, pasta, potatoes, and seasonal vegetables.

Accommodation during the trek is in cosy teahouses run by local families. Rooms are usually twin-sharing with comfortable bedding, and shared dining areas provide a warm, social atmosphere. Hot showers and charging facilities are also available along the route.
